ENGLISH:
The early settlers of Electric Veng attended church services at Dawrpui and Chhinga Veng, according to their conveniences. The considerable distance to these churches often discouraged attendance. Recognizing this, a desire for a dedicated church within the locality emerged. During the Beihrual of 1962, makeshift services were held in various homes. However, with the conclusion of the Beihrual, these localized services ended.
After consultation with the Pastor of Dawrpui Pastorate, the first dedicated service was conducted on 21st September 1963. This event not only persisted beyond the Beihrual but also signaled the inception of a new preaching station. The Chhinga Veng Church assumed responsibility for overseeing the preaching station, appointing leaders to guide it. These leaders convened on 1st October 1963 to establish a formal committee to govern the new preaching station, alongside other necessary committees. Initially, services were held at the local primary school.
The 21st of September 1963, the date of the first church service in the locality, is celebrated as the founding day of the Electric Veng Presbyterian Church. The church attained full-fledged status on 11th November 1965.
